2024 Season Start Up (Practices, Meets, Custom Caps, and More!)

Hello Families,

I hope everyone is doing well and is excited for the upcoming season. I did want to go over a few things regarding our team as we approach the beginning of summer.

First, if you know of someone that is looking for our registration, please forward them this email and they can start by CLICKING HERE.

PRACTICE

  1. We will have afternoon practices on May 20-23 and May 28-30. We will have a group starting at 4p (swim only) and a group starting at 5p (both swim and dive). Come to whichever time best fits your schedule. This is for Meet-Ready Gators ONLY. Mini Gators will start the week of June 3rd.
  2. Morning practice will start on Friday, May 31st and will run through the end of our season. Click the following links to see the SWIM PRACTICE SCHEDULE and DIVE PRACTICE SCHEDULE.
  3. Mini Gators Groups have been finalized and can be found by CLICKING HERE. Mini Gators will practice from 12:00p-12:30p on their respective days. Please only come on the days you are assigned so our coaches can ensure your child's safety and can effectively work with your kids. To see each groups' specific schedule, our Monday/Thursday families can CLICK HERE and our Tuesday/Friday families can CLICK HERE.
  4. Please send your kids to practice in the appropriate attire. This includes a practice suit (no bikinis, swim trunks, or swim shirts), cap, and goggles. This is the uniform we will wear in meets, so we should wear that same uniform in practice. If your kid does not have a swim cap, we will be handing those out at our first few practices.

MEETS

  1. Regular season meets will occur on Wednesday Nights (with one exception, we will get to that). The dive portion of the meet will start at 3:00p, with warm ups beforehand. The swim portion of the meet will start at 5:30p, with warm ups beforehand. We will send out specific times for each meet as we get closer and finalize details with the other team.
  2. The 2024 CKSDC Conference Meet is July 7-10. In order to compete at the Conference Meet, you must compete in AT LEAST 2 REGULAR SEASON MEETS. This is our biggest meet of the year and we want everyone to be able to participate in it. Be sure to come to enough meets so you can compete at Conference.
  3. We are introducing a SIGN UP DEADLINE for each of our meets this season. The CKSDC has rules about when entries are due and we have to abide by those. Because of that, we need to know your attendance status 3 days beforehand. For our Wednesday night regular season meets, the deadline will be the Sunday before at 5p. For our one regular season meet on Monday night, the deadline is the Friday before at 5p. If your attendance is contingent on other activites (baseball, etc.) please let me know before the deadline so we can plan for that. I will leave links to sign up for each of our meets below. Feel free to mark your attendance status for all of our meets ASAP (it should take less than 5 minutes to mark all of them).
    1. 2024 CKSDC Conference Meet (Meet on 7/7-7/10, Sign Up Deadline on 6/23 at 5p)
    2. Meet vs Mt. Sterling (Meet on 6/5, Sign Up Deadline on 6/2 at 5p)
    3. Meet vs Danville (Meet on 6/12, Sign Up Deadline on 6/9 at 5p)
    4. Meet @ LCC (Meet on 6/19, Sign Up Deadline on 6/16 at 5p)
    5. **Monday Meet vs Hartland (Meet on 6/24, Sign Up Deadline on 6/21 at 5p)
    6. Tri-Meet @ Spindletop, vs Greenbrier (Meet on 6/26, Sign Up Deadline on 6/23 at 5p)
    7. Meet @ Arlington (Meet on 7/3, Sign Up Deadline on 6/30 at 5p)
  4. Our Deck Layout for our meets will be the same as last year. We will run a Clerk of Course over in the corner by the diving boards. Every race will start on the block end (closest to the golf course) of the pool. Timers, Ribbon People, and our other volunteers will switch sides of the pool throughout the meet as we transition from 25s to 50s.
  5. Volunteering is vital to the success of our team. Our kids could not compete in our meets if it weren't for our parents who volunteer their time and service during the season. We have a VOLUNTEER POLICY again this summer. It is very similar to last summer's policy, with each family needing to work AT LEAST 4 SHIFTS throughout the season (unless you already opted-out of volunteering). Each missed shift below the minimum of 4 is a $75 fine for a maximum of a $300 fine. I don't think that we will come to that because I know we have great families that will step up. We cannot do this without you and we thank you for your constant support. If you'd like to go ahead and sign up to volunteer, we have our home meet volunteer positions already posted. I will link our volunteer sign ups to each of our home meets below. Our volunteer positions for our away meets have not been posted yet, but we will let everyone know when those volunteer slots become available.
    1. Volunteer Sign Up for Meet vs Mt. Sterling (Meet on 6/5)
    2. Volunteer Sign Up for Meet vs Danville (Meet on 6/12)
    3. Volunteer Sign Up for Monday Meet vs Hartland (Meet on 6/24)
  6. Results for all of our meets will be posted the day after the meet.

OTHER

  1. For our parents who sign up to be officials this season, thank you. Dive Officials MUST BE CERTIFIED ANNUALLY. Swim Officials MUST BE CERTIFIED ONCE EVERY 2 YEARS. We will let you know ASAP if you need to do the training this year or not as soon as we get the list from the CKSDC.
  2. Coach Morgan will be adding families to the Photo Album soon (if you requested to be added during registration). Due to the number of people on our team, 1 parent per family will be added. Those added will have the ability to upload pictures from throughout the season into the album. Everyone will be able to view the album by CLICKING HERE (even if you are not able to add pictures yourself). Pictures can be from practices, meets, activities, or anything IHCC Gators related. If you did not request to be added but would like to be added, please let me know.
  3. We will have personalized caps this season. If you'd like to order a pair of personalized caps for your kid, please CLICK HERE and fill out this Google Form by Wednesday, May 15th.

That is all I have as of now. Please keep an eye out on your email as we get going this summer. We will have tons of information coming out as we get closer to the start of our season. If you have any questions, please let me know. Can't wait to see everyone soon.

Best,

The IHCC Coaches
