IHCC Gators Weekly Update: 6/15-6/21
Hello Families,
Happy Father's Day to all of our father's! I hope everyone is enjoying time with their families today. We have a few events coming up, as well as some announcements, that we'd like to share with you all.
MEET vs HARTLAND (6/18)
We have our first home meet this week! While we are excited to be back at Idle Hour, hosting a meet does mean a larger volunteer requirement for our team. We should have a large turnout this week, so I'm confident we can fill all of our assigned roles. The sign up deadline for our meet is tonight at 5p. If you miss the deadline, please text Coach Trent at (859) 248-4550 ASAP so we can try to get your child into the meet

Please also see our schedule below. For home meets, our warm up time is earlier than it has been for the first two meets that were on the road, so please be aware of that.

KINGS ISLAND TEAM TRIP (6/26)
Sign ups for our Kings Island Team Trip close tonight at 5p. There will be some kind of cost associated with this trip (last year it was $130 for kids and $70 for chaperones, this year will be similar but there may be a slight increase for 2025). If you'd like to attend, please CLICK HERE to sign up ASAP. We are also looking for parent chaperones to join us on the trip. If you'd like to sign up as a parent chaperone, please CLICK HERE.
Also keep an eye out on your email early this week, as we will be sending food order forms for the trip Monday or Tuesday.
CONFERENCE SIGN UPS (7/13-7/16)
The 2025 CKSDC Championships are quickly approaching. This is our most important meet of the year and we cannot continue our great run of form their without great attendance. Please clear your calendars for July 13th-16th and CLICK HERE to sign your kid up for the meet.
- Conference Schedule
- Sunday, July 13th: Diving (All Ages)
- Monday, July 14th: Swimming Prelims (10 & Under)
- Tuesday, July 15th: Swimming Prelims (11 & Over)
- Wednesday, July 16th: Swimming Finals (All Ages)
LEAVING A MEET EARLY
While we hope that everyone stays for the entire meet, we understand if families need to leave early. However, you need to notify Coach Morgan if you are leaving. Leaving early puts our team at risk of not being able to fill relays at the end of the meet. Last week in our meet against LCC, we had to scratch a couple of relays because of these early departures. Please talk with Coach Morgan to make sure your swimmer is COMPLETELY FINISHED with their events before leaving the meet.
PRACTICE ATTENDANCE
Please make every effort to get your kids to practice at every opportunity. This is how they will improve over the course of the season. I know weather has made things less than ideal so far this year. We will keep you all updated on those days, but always assume practice is happening until you hear from us saying it has been delayed/canceled.
RESULTS FROM LCC
The results from the last week's meet have been posted on our website. You can find those HERE. We have noticed some times may be inaccurate, that is why it is important to attend as many meets as possible so we can get accurate times for your kids.
RECORDBOARD & HEART OF IDLE HOUR BOARD
If you have not been in the summerhouse since this past Thursday, we have made some new additions inside. We have added a team recordboard, as well as board celebrating our past Heart of Idle Hour award winners. We are thrilled to be able to recognize our athletes for all of their hard work and hope these displays will motivate both current and future Gators! A couple of notes on these displays.
- The Heart of Idle Hour is an award given out at our end of season banquet and is given to someone who fully embodies what it means to be an Idle Hour Gator. We will continue to update this board annually as each season's winner is determined.
- The Team Recordboard has all of our team's best known performances, starting with the 2018 season and going through the end of the 2024 season. While we wish we could've captured our team's entire history, published results only go back to the 2018 season. Due to timing/scoring inconsistencies at regular season meets, team records can only be broken at the Conference Meet each summer (where there are touchpads and back up systems for swimming, and a full panel of judges with independent scoring tables for diving). As with the Heart of Idle Hour board, the team recordboard will be updated annually to reflect all new records broken at the most recent Conference Meet.
That is all we have this week. If you have any questions, please let us know.
Best,
The IHCC Coaches
