I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you to everyone who made it out to the meet last night. 

Results from Last Night

It was a great night and the Gators picked up the win with a score of 356-255. I am particularly proud of that result, as WCC finished ahead of us at Conference last season. Although we picked up the win, we have a lot to work on. We have a chance to win a lot of our regular season meets and finish very high at Conference, but it takes ALL OF US. Please continue to send your kids to practice and meets as often as you can. Results from last night's meet can be found HERE.

Communication at Meets

Reflecting on last night's meet, I want to thank all of our parent volunteers for helping us out. We couldn't do it without you. The first meet is always tough, but I thought it ran fairly smooth. One place I think our team can improve upon going forward is the communication between parents and coaches. If you are signed up for a meet, the coaches make plans based on the assumption that all kids (even 6 & Unders) will be at the meet from the arrival time through the final relays. If something is preventing that from happening, please let Coach Trent know. I also understand that you may not want to wait around if your kid is done with their individual events earlier in the meet (after backstroke for example). It may be okay to leave, but please come ask Coach Trent if your kid is done before leaving. Even just one absence we are not aware of can have a ripple effect on the entire team. In last night's meet, one absence we weren't aware of impacted 12 races in total. There were other absences and early departures that effected other races as well. Had we known about that ahead of time, we would have time to make adjustments. I want to apologize for not communicating this idea as thoroughly as I could have on the front end. I think it's important to remember that this was the first meet of the year and I know improved communication going forward will go a long way towards the success of our team.
